Vegetation Management
Battle River Power Coop has a comprehensive Vegetation Management Program to manage vegetation growing around power lines.
Maintaining designated vegetation clearances around energized power lines, structures, and equipment is important for system reliability. Our program promotes safety, reduces power outages and improves power quality. Battle River Power Coop has an obligation under the Alberta Electrical Utility Code (AEUC) Fifth Edition and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group) to maintain the vegetation around overhead power lines to a safe and legislated distance.
Our Program Includes:
- Tree pruning
- Tree removals
- Mulching
- Herbicide Treatment
Power lines are patrolled for vegetation concerns. Work will be identified on a Landowner consent and brought to the attention of the landowner for authorization. If you have missed the consenter, please be sure you connect with them via the contact information provided (voice mail or on-site notification). Consenters may also be called if you have further questions. We appreciate your patience as there is often a varied amount of time between our consenters visit with you and the crews arriving on site to complete the work.
PLEASE REMEMBER - ONLY CERTIFIED UTILITY EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS ARE ALLOWED TO WORK ON OR AROUND ENERGIZED POWER LINES.
